  • Description: We've got to fight...for our right...to pretty much anything. In this topic, we will be delving into the history of those who fought so that we could live in the world we live in today. From the signing of the Magna Carta, to the English Revolution, the Suffragettes to the Victorian cotton mills, we will find out what our ancestors had to put up with and explore how Britain has changed through the centuries. There will be a particular interest in the importance of human rights, dissolution of dictatorships and the legislations that protects children and women. To recall the events leading up to the signing of the Magna Carta. To understand what the English Revolution was. To understand how children's rights changed in the Victorian Era. To understand who the Suffragettes were and what they wanted and achieved. To consider ongoing developments in human rights and legislation and what they mean for the future.
