Content

  • An Introduction & Mark Marking. This is the start of Silver Arts Award in the hub. There is no need to have completed previous art lessons or the Bronze Arts Award. Welcome to Silver Arts Award! This block will introduce you to the requirements needed to complete your silver award, I'll talk you through the process and be able to answer any questions that you may have. We'll also start looking at mark marking in a variety of materials which will continue into Block 2. Individual outcomes will vary but the overarching aim is to investigate the use of mark marking techniques, develop skills involving tone, colour, different materials and evolve these into pieces of art.

  • All of the Arts Award blocks taught live in the hub will teach visual art but young people can also include other art forms in their portfolios - for example drama, music, furniture making, singing, song writing & creative writing. This is the ideal course for anyone looking for a qualification in the arts. Discover Silver Arts Award requirements. Develop a portfolio strategy . Explore mark making using different materials.

Tutor

Lydia .

Fashion & Art Tutor

Hi! I’m Lydia and I teach Art, Fashion, Crochet, Knit and Embroidery in the hub and love every second of it. You’ll also find me in the Social Pods running activities, which I’m super excited about. It’s so lovely to talk to the wonderful members in the hub about their hobbies and interests and see their confidence grow as they form friendships. I’ve been a Secondary School teacher for 14 years but made the decision to leave the classroom this year and focus on teaching sessions that encourage fun, creativity and learning without limit.

“We have been taking part in the BSL lessons and the other day had great fun finger spelling while shopping. Two of my children have dyslexia with T being more severe, he hates and refuses spellings. Along comes BSL and he’s loving spellings!” ”

Holly, Parent

“Our family are full time travellers and the hub is a life line for us. The children get to see and speak to adults who show a real interest in their learning and their lives. They get to pick lessons that they are interested in and have fun learning something new. The social hub was a real life line for us too. My 3 have made friends and love getting to chat to children and adults daily too. ”

Donna, Parent

“I can’t thank you enough for starting this group Amy. You gave me back my happy (not so little anymore) boy. Thanks to this group he’s realised he’s not the stupid, naughty kid that school made him believe he was. His sister is on school holidays and he’s doing recorded lessons by choice. Xxxx ”
