  • Arts Challenge

    Calling all future artists!

Silver Arts Award is an exciting opportunity to gain a qualification for your creativity and artwork!

The award requires learners to build a portfolio which comprises of two units - Unit 1: Arts Challenge and Unit 2: Arts Leadership project.

In Unit one you'll set yourself an Arts Challenge to learn a new skill or develop an existing one, review an arts event as an audience member and research careers in the arts and arts organisations that inspire you.

For Unit 2 you develop an arts leadership project where you run an arts based event, either individually or as part of a team.

Due to the individualised nature of the Silver Award, no practical art will take place in the lessons, your Arts Challenge will need to be completed in addition to the lessons in the hub.

Silver Arts award can be completed in (but not limited to) visual art, dance, theatre tech, drama, singing, music, furniture design / making, silver smithing, rap, fine art, textiles - the list goes on, please get in touch if you aren't sure.

Please note that upon submission your young person must be between the ages of 11 and 25. Whilst Silver Arts Award can be completed from aged 11, the detail required in the portfolio and the independent learning required by the course mean that Trinity College have given it a recommended age of 14+.

Tutor

Lydia .

Fashion & Art Tutor

Hi! I’m Lydia and I teach Art, Fashion, Crochet, Knit and Embroidery in the hub and love every second of it. You’ll also find me in the Social Pods running activities, which I’m super excited about. It’s so lovely to talk to the wonderful members in the hub about their hobbies and interests and see their confidence grow as they form friendships. I’ve been a Secondary School teacher for 14 years but made the decision to leave the classroom this year and focus on teaching sessions that encourage fun, creativity and learning without limit.

“Just wanted to say thank you so much for this amazing hub. The passion shines through in the lessons - the tutors enjoy what they are doing which makes such a huge difference. My daughter is using the recordings currently, which is such a brilliant resource, being able to pause and go back over at any point to something she needs to refresh on.
