About this course

  • £10.00
  • Tutor: Gemma, 5 sessions
  • Age: 11+
  • Description: Mix of Old and New Testament from start to finish. Block 1. Let's notebook and journal the Bible from start to finish. (You'll need either 2 spiral bound A4 books or folders and plastic wallets). Each week will begin with a quick 'who am I?' quiz question, which will also encourage the children to find their way round the Bible. The class will involve either reading or listening to the passage or story of the week, marking our history timeline, answering comprehension style questions, doing some Bible verse art, playing bingo, discussing ideas how we can improve our prayer life and relationship with God (creating prayer jars etc), doing quizzes, handwriting practise of Bible verses to go in our journals, making food using recipes from the time of the Bible and generally doing fun things together whilst helping each other on our paths and difficulties. There will be plenty of after class activities to keep you going! I want this to be a class that is fully interactive and more about listening and letting the voices of our children be heard rather than lots of reading and comprehension. I want to inspire the children to always set a good example for others and be a shining star of Christian charity. This time will be special in that all the children who do this class will want to grow up loving God and doing everything for the love of God. It will be a safe space for the children to be able to talk about difficult situations and for others to suggest how we might overcome them. The Bible has been given to us so that we can lead our own lives in accordance with God's Holy Law - let's apply this to our daily lives and have fun at the same time! L/O: To understand the Bible in terms of dates and history; to use the Bible as a basis for our own lives; to listen to others and offer advice where you can.
