Content

  • Children will need their own copy of the book for Week 1. Please do NOT read any of the story before the first class.

    This is the brilliantly funny first book from the SAM WU series, starring the bravest scaredy-cat in the world! Sam Wu is NOT a scaredy-cat (except he is). When a trip to the Space Museum goes terrifyingly wrong, Sam begins a mission to prove to the school bully, and all of his friends, that he is a fearless space adventurer. A truly laugh-out-loud, voice-led and madcap story of ghost hunting, snakes and mischievous pet cats called Butterbutt.

  • Book Club 7-9 is primarily at developing a love of reading and building confidence. Each week, we will spend time enjoying and talking about a section of the book together, and children will have the chance to read aloud if they wish to. A selection of activities to enhance their understanding of the book, including comprehension questions, writing, research and craft activities will also be provided each week, which children can complete after each class if they wish, though these are optional. Children will need to complete some additional reading outside of the class each week in order to ensure we are able to complete the story within the 5 week block.
