  • Description: Introduction to coding with micro:bit in Scratch. An introduction to coding micro:bit in Scratch. Micro:bit is an affordable, pocket-sized, beginner-friendly programmable computer that is compatible with Scratch block coding. The micro:bit can be programmed as a game controller, to display LED images and text as well as detect movement using its motion sensing capabilities allowing participants to create unique interactive games and programs. In this block, I'll guide you through setting up your micro:bit, introduce the LED light display, buttons and sensors that when programmed, let it interact with you and your world. We'll create simple but fun, interactive programs that will inspire your child to go on to design their own programs and games. You will need: * micro:bit V2 GO - starter kit. This includes the micro:bit, micro USB cable, battery holder and 2 AA batteries. (I recommend getting a longer micro USB cable than the one that's provided in the kit). https://thepihut.com/products/micro-bit-v2-go-starter-kit *Scratch account (free) https://scratch.mit.edu/join If this is your first time using micro:bit in Scratch, please follow the instructions on this website to get started. scratch.mit.edu/microbit Requirements Windows 10 version 1709+ macOS 10.13+ ChromeOS Android 6.0+ Bluetooth Scratch Link (download from scratch.mit.edu/microbit) Use the latest version of Chrome as your web browser.
