  • Description: Creative Writing - Form and Structure New for September 2022, Creative Writing Club for Secondary Students will build on skills learned in primary school and allow students to develop their own particular style. You’ll already know how to use figurative language and you’ll have a good grasp of grammar and structure, but you might feel restricted in how you use those skills. In this group, we will be basing our writing on different stimuli each week. We will be looking at different forms of writing – prose fiction, description, poetry, drama – and you’ll be able to take your own direction. Each lesson, there will be an opportunity to present your work to the group for comment and constructive critique. If you’d like to read your poem or story, if you’d like the group to perform a play that you’ve written, this is the group for you. If you want to be a silent participant, that’s also fine! However, if you want to have your work read aloud and presented to the group anonymously, you can do that too. Consolidate figurative writing skills and develop personal writing using different forms and structure. Use of presentational skills - reading work aloud. Developing constructive criticism skills.
