  • Learning Show Description

This unit offers an exciting opportunity to investigate one of the world's most famous maritime disasters: the RMS Titanic. We will explore the Titanic's construction, discover what life was like for passengers from different social classes and examine the dramatic events that led to its sinking.

By examining different sources, such as photographs, films and survivor accounts, we will develop our understanding of this significant event in history. We will become historical investigators, examining different viewpoints and deciding who was responsible for the tragedy.

The unit concludes by exploring the lasting impact of the Titanic disaster and the important safety improvements that transformed sea travel. This fascinating and memorable unit encourages curiosity and helps learners understand why the story of the Titanic continues to captivate people around the world more than a century later.
