About this course

  • £10.00
  • Tutor: Diane, 5 sessions
  • Age: approx 14-16
  • Description: This is Block 4 for IGCSE English Language with Pearson Edexcel, Specification A. The whole course will run over two years, with each block following on from the previous one, giving students who feel ready the opportunity to enter for the exam in June 2024. In Blocks 1,2 and 3 , we learned about the structure of Paper 1 and the different types of questions. We focused on five anthology texts: H is for Hawk, The Explorer’s Daughter, Chinese Cinderella, From A Passage to Africa and Young and Dyslexic? You’ve Got It Going On. In this block, we will continue studying the remaining anthology texts (a PDF of the anthology is available online and will be provided). We will be looking at detail, language, structure and writers’ perspectives and contexts. We will consider how texts can be compared and how we write about them. Please note that if you are new to this course, it is essential that you purchase and watch the recordings of Blocks 1, 2 and 3, available in the products section of the website. We will be looking at detail, language, structure and writers’ perspectives and contexts. We will consider how texts can be compared and how we write about them.
