• Description: Paper 1 Block 3. This is Block 3 for IGCSE English Language with Pearson Edexcel, Specification A, for 2025 entry. It will run over two years, with each block following on from the previous one, giving students who feel ready the opportunity to enter for the exam in June 2025. Please note that this block will have exactly the same content as the recordings from the Year 1 course from September 2022, but you will have the opportunity to participate in live lessons, rather than recordings. In this block, we will continue to study the ten anthology texts (a PDF of the anthology is available online and will be provided). We have covered “H is for Hawk”, “The Explorer’s Daughter” and “Chinese Cinderella” in Block 1. We will be looking at detail, language, structure and writers’ perspectives and contexts. We will consider how texts can be compared and how we write about them. Responses will be modelled and discussed during the session and tasks will be set for independent completion.
