Content

  • The £5 Challenge is a one block opportunity for learners to start their own business with just £5! Parents / Carers will need to provide their young person with £5 in order to participate in this block. Learner could use their own pocket money or funds too! Learners will use their £5 to create a one off pop up event or start their long term business. They will generate a business name and logo, design and produce their product or service, complete market research and then start to trade. We will explore what makes a good logo design, how we can make our business sustainable and how we can ensure our business solves a problem for our target audience or is good for the community in some way.

  • This will be an engaging and interactive block with learners actively working to run a pop up event or start to trade if they wish. For those who do not wish to participate then the pop up event, this block will also be a great opportunity to explore other learners creativity and entrepreneurial skills which may inspire you. 1. To consider sustainability 2. To be creative 3. To conduct research 4. To make a profit. This block has been delivered before. Learners get a lot of the course whether they are doing it live or using the pre-recorded sessions.

Business IGCSE, Law, Criminology Tutor

Hello! I’m Carla and I teach a variety of Secondary Social Science sessions in the Hub. These currently includes Business, Law and Criminology. I am a Freelance Educator who enjoys a variety of roles. My most recent role outside of the Hub has been a Deputy Headteacher which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I am also an Educational Advisor for Claire House and examiner with a leading exam board. I have almost 20 years’ teaching experience and have led the pastoral care of students for the vast majority of my career. I have vast experience of leading Alternative Provision within the secondary system and that is why I adore the Hub and our learners within it soooooo much. I am based close to my home city of Liverpool, have three children and two cats. I love music and always start my sessions with a song whilst everyone is joining. During my free time you will find me exploring the UK and France in our caravan. Hope to see you soon in one of my sessions.
