  • Growing as Fashion Illustrators

    In this new Fashion Illustration unit, our young illustrators will continue developing the creativity and confidence they’ve already begun building in our previous lessons together.

    Taking inspiration from fashion illustrators such as Danny Roberts, Julie Verhoeven and Kerrie Hess, they will experiment with expressive sketching, bold colour, mixed media collage and elegant watercolour techniques.

    Across five engaging lessons, young illustrators will explore different artistic styles before designing their own final fashion illustration. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to grow their artistic voice, build on skills they’ve already developed, and enjoy expressing their own ideas through fashion and drawing.

  • Course Objectives:

    Analyse the styles and techniques used by different fashion illustrators.

    Experiment with line, colour, and mixed media to create fashion illustrations.

    Create a final fashion illustration inspired by a professional illustrator.

    Specialist
    Resources Needed:

    Paper or sketchbook
    Pencils and a rubber
    Black fineliner or thin black pen
    Colouring materials (felt tips, coloured pencils, or markers)
    Watercolour paints and a brush
    Small container for water (if using paints)
    Glue stick
    Scissors
    Old magazines or coloured paper for collage
    Paper towels or cloth for cleaning brushes

Fashion & Art Tutor

Hi! I’m Lydia and I teach Art, Fashion, Crochet, Knit and Embroidery in the hub and love every second of it. You’ll also find me in the Social Pods running activities, which I’m super excited about. It’s so lovely to talk to the wonderful members in the hub about their hobbies and interests and see their confidence grow as they form friendships. I’ve been a Secondary School teacher for 14 years but made the decision to leave the classroom this year and focus on teaching sessions that encourage fun, creativity and learning without limit.
