  • Description: PLEASE NOTE: There will only be 4 sessions in this block - there won't be a session on 19th January. Observation Skills. This block we will explore observation skills needed in forensic science. We will investigate facial recognition, eyewitness accounts, the power of observation and the increasing use of deep fakes. We will learn about Frances Glessner Lee, the ‘mother of Forensic Science’ and explore her diorama crime scenes. The sessions will be a mix of engaging try at home activities, demos and interactive lessons delivered by an academic research scientist. You will also be able to create you own crime scene diorama. L/O: L/O: 1) To have fun whilst exploring the world of forensic science. 2) To learn about facial recognition / e-fits. 3) To explore crimes scene investigation using dioramas. 4) To understand about observation skills and the reliability of eye witness accounts. 5) To explore AI and deep fakes.
