Content

  • As-tu un animal? Do you have a pet? In this class we will learn to say what pets we have, lots of animal names and we will learn to say what their names are. We will work on extending our sentences using conjunctions. It will help if we already know:  Some French phonics.  Vocabulary from ‘Je Me Présente’ and ‘Ma Famille’ units.  The difference between a definite and indefinite article/determiner.  That nouns in French have gender and this has an impact on the determiner.

  • Revise 8 common pets in French with their determiners. Say ‘I have a pet’ in French. Say what my pet is called in French. Say what pet I do not have in French. Integrate the conjunction ‘et’ (and) and ‘mais’ (but) accurately into my work.

Hi, I’m Amanda and I’m the teacher of Primary French and Learning with Nature in the Hub. I’m a mum to 3 grown up children (one of each) and Granny to one lively 3 year-old who insists I read his French books every time he comes for a sleepover! I’m a primary school teacher and I’ve been teaching French to this age group since 1995! I love that it is a subject that ALL children can achieve in and that it helps with English grammar, spelling and attention to detail as well as being fun! I’ve even published some books with Ladybird and Brilliant publications in this field. As well as teaching in the Hub, I run a little business helping people to get outside more often (which is how I met Amy ) and this links in really closely to our Learning with Nature classes which are primary science linked with a belief that the best way to love our planet is to learn to love nature (can you tell I was Eco-Schools coordinator at school?). These are my 2 passion subjects in school and I just love passing that on to your youngsters!
