Content

  • Les Instruments - Musical Instruments

    This block is suitable for complete beginners. It would be handy to have done the basics block from Sept 24 before this (but not essential).

    In this class we will learn the names of lots of musical instruments and learn to say which one/s we play. We'll be looking at the definite article in this block (having discussed the indefinite article in our animals block- Nov 24).

  • Course Objectives:

    Recognise, recall and spell up to ten instrument nouns in French with their correct definite article/determiner with improving accuracy.

    Understand, say and write from memory 'I play' in French.

    Understand better that one article/determiner may have different versions in French and that the definite article/determiner 'the' also has a plural form in French.

    Put together a short sentence using a determiner, a noun and the verb 'je joue' (I play) with some/all 10 instruments.

Hi, I’m Amanda and I’m the teacher of Primary French and Learning with Nature in the Hub. I’m a mum to 3 grown up children (one of each) and Granny to one lively 3 year-old who insists I read his French books every time he comes for a sleepover! I’m a primary school teacher and I’ve been teaching French to this age group since 1995! I love that it is a subject that ALL children can achieve in and that it helps with English grammar, spelling and attention to detail as well as being fun! I’ve even published some books with Ladybird and Brilliant publications in this field. As well as teaching in the Hub, I run a little business helping people to get outside more often (which is how I met Amy ) and this links in really closely to our Learning with Nature classes which are primary science linked with a belief that the best way to love our planet is to learn to love nature (can you tell I was Eco-Schools coordinator at school?). These are my 2 passion subjects in school and I just love passing that on to your youngsters!
