Content

  • Les Vetements - Clothes

    Older learners could access this as a beginner, but we will be constructing longer sentences, so some experience would be beneficial.

    It would be handy if students have done our 'Weather' block - Quel temps fait-il?

    We are going to learn to describe what we are wearing and what we wear in certain weather conditions.

    We will be choosing the correct article for items of clothing and describing them using adjectival agreement.

    Sounds hard - but it's loads of fun! Have your drawing pens/pencils handy.

  • Course Objectives:

    Read, recognise, say and write the vocabulary (nouns with the correct gender and article) for a range of clothes in French accurately and with good pronunciation.

    Use the verb PORTER (conjugated) in French to help me describe what I am wearing and possibly what other people are wearing.

    Say what clothes I wear in different situations and different weather.

    Describe what I am wearing in terms of colour using accurate adjectival agreement. Possibly be able to describe what other people are wearing.

    Use the correct possessive adjective for 'My' in French in relation to the items of clothing learnt in this unit.

Hi, I’m Amanda and I’m the teacher of Primary French and Learning with Nature in the Hub. I’m a mum to 3 grown up children (one of each) and Granny to one lively 3 year-old who insists I read his French books every time he comes for a sleepover! I’m a primary school teacher and I’ve been teaching French to this age group since 1995! I love that it is a subject that ALL children can achieve in and that it helps with English grammar, spelling and attention to detail as well as being fun! I’ve even published some books with Ladybird and Brilliant publications in this field. As well as teaching in the Hub, I run a little business helping people to get outside more often (which is how I met Amy ) and this links in really closely to our Learning with Nature classes which are primary science linked with a belief that the best way to love our planet is to learn to love nature (can you tell I was Eco-Schools coordinator at school?). These are my 2 passion subjects in school and I just love passing that on to your youngsters!
