    Block 1

    Functional Skills Maths Level 1 forms the foundation for real-life numeracy.

    It’s designed to ensure learners can use maths to make informed decisions and solve problems in everyday contexts. This course starts by helping you get really confident with the basics - not boring maths, but useful, everyday stuff you’ll actually use.

    In the first block, you’ll learn how to:

    Understand and break down big and small numbers

    Put numbers in order (even with decimals!)

    Add and subtract quickly and accurately

    Multiply in ways that make sense Use maths to solve real-life problems

    Whether you’re sorting out shopping costs, calculating carpet sizes, or working things out in your head more easily, this course gives you the skills to feel more in control.

    It’s all about practical maths that helps in everyday life - no tricky words, no pressure, just learning that works for you.

    Recognise and use positive and negative numbers

    Read, write, order and compare decimals

    Carry out calculations with numbers up to one million using efficient written and mental methods

KS3 Maths Tutor

Hello! I’m Deanne and I teach Secondary Maths here in the hub. I’ve been a fully qualified teacher of Maths for over 20 years, having taught in a variety of schools in the Midlands and North West for a number of years. I am a current examiner of GCSE and A level Maths and I run my own tuition business. I have written and proofread textbooks and revision guides for a well known publisher and reviewed content for various websites. I aim to make Maths as accessible as possible to all my students and build confidence whenever I can.

  • How do I access the live sessions?

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration.

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.

  • How do I contact support?
