  • The Functional Skills Maths Level 2 qualification is nationally recognised and is valued by higher education, apprenticeships and employers.

It's equivalent to a grade 4, or C but it's more flexible as it allows you to take the test when you're ready.

The exam can be taken online at a time and date convenient to you or at an exam centre (entry fees apply).

In addition this course can be used as a pre-course to studying GCSE Maths if you feel that is your eventual aim, but you may feel more confident in taking this course initially.

Functional skills is more focused on practical applications of Mathematics and as such the abstract algebraic skills required are minimal.

“I absolutely adore and am so grateful for what you do here! These lessons have been an absolute god send for this single mum and her anxious teen daughter! Breaking up our home ed to a mix of online lessons gives me and my daughter a welcome break from each other so I am not always seen as “teacher” ! Thank you so much xxxx”

Kirsty, parent

“The group is wonderful, the classes are great, the teachers are awesome and my kids feel they belong to a community. They've made real friends with whom they spend hours chatting and playing. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't find this group.…. you have made a gigantic difference in many people's lives and have contributed greatly to ensuring many kids enjoy studying and grow up happy and mentally healthy and that is pretty amazing.”

Ana, parent

“You're pure genius. It’s given us a lifeline! There are no words I can say to describe just how incredible it is to have amazing teachers at our fingertips to teach my daughter (and all the other kids here). Because of YOU and all the TEACHERS here, I am able to take my daughter out of an environment that wasn’t suitable for her and still give her a good education, that's so affordable, at home where she feels safe and comfortable. ”

Krystle, parent

“The way you’ve structured The £2 Tuition Hub clearly comes from a deep and personal understanding of what anxious/ND children and young people need in order to be able to engage with and enjoy their learning. I’d honestly be lost without your work, so big thanks to you and the rest of your team. ”

Laura, Parent

“....The Enterprising minds course has helped her to be able to do a business plan and her accounts. I/ we just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all in the hub. When we started HE 2 years ago we were thrown in it and wasn't sure that we would manage it. But the help all the Teachers have provided via the hub has really made this unfamiliar journey not only bearable, but enjoyable. ”

Ruth, Parent
