    Block 2

    You will need to complete block 1 before this block.

    Functional Skills Maths Level 2 is equivalent to a GCSE Grade 4 (standard pass), and the qualification is accepted by most employers, colleges, and apprenticeships (but please do check in advance!).

    It gives you practical confidence with maths you'll actually use.

    The full course is 5 blocks of 5 lessons.

    This block continues the numbers theme and will cover fractions, decimals, percentages and estimation.

  • Course Objectives:

    Add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers

    Find fractions and percentages of quantities; express one number as a fraction/percentage of another

    Calculate percentage increase/decrease; solve reverse percentage problems

    Convert between fraction, decimal and percentages and identify equivalence.

    Estimate/approximate in calculations and check answers

KS3 Maths Tutor

Hello! I’m Deanne and I teach Secondary Maths here in the hub. I’ve been a fully qualified teacher of Maths for over 20 years, having taught in a variety of schools in the Midlands and North West for a number of years. I am a current examiner of GCSE and A level Maths and I run my own tuition business. I have written and proofread textbooks and revision guides for a well known publisher and reviewed content for various websites. I aim to make Maths as accessible as possible to all my students and build confidence whenever I can.

  • How do I access the live sessions?

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration.

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.
