It is designed to prepare students ready for examinations in June 2024 (currently 5th June & 17th June). Due to being condensed, this course does have a pre-requisite of material previously studied (see below). Although all material within the course will be covered, a large amount that overlaps with IGCSE/GCSE will be revised swiftly to allow time to be spent on new material specific to this Statistics course. Work will be set each week for completion and self-marking. There will be a textbook and calculator suggestion made during the Summer to allow early preparation for the start. ESSENTIAL: Students starting this course will be expected to have either covered one or other of the following. #1 The IGCSE/GCSE course Year 1 currently on the £2Hub, and be comfortable/confident with the basics and statistics block. #2 Have studied the statistics component of their IGCSE/GCSE syllabus AND be familiar with Number, Algebra, Ratio & Proportion, and probability as found on the following link within the Course Planner. https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/edexcel-gcses/statistics-2017.coursematerials.html#%2FfilterQuery=category:Pearson-UK:Category%2FTeaching-and-learning-materials L/O: To revise the first two Units of the course that overlap heavily with I/GCSE, but also include some new material.
