Content

  • In the September block we will be looking at:- Introduction to the Guitar | Reading Tab & Basic Riffs. This class is for absolute beginners or learners who have only been playing for a few weeks/months. Whether you're an absolute beginner or have some basic experience on the guitar, this class will help give you the tools you need to navigate the guitar, play basic songs and riffs, and become more independent as a new musician.

  • L/O: - To be able to identify strings names and numbers. - To play riffs using basic rhythms across two strings. - To read basic rhythms. - To fingerpick across 3 strings.

Guitar Tutor

I am a professional guitarist and qualified music teacher with extensive experience as a soloist, accompanist, and band member across various genres including Rock, Soul, Funk, Folk, Latin, Reggae, Gypsy Jazz, Classical, and more. I play Lead Guitar for the band El Misti. I have a Degree in Music Education from the international contemporary music awarding body, Rockschool, as well as Grade 8 Electric Guitar (Rockschool) and Grade 8 Classical Guitar (ABRSM), and an Audio Engineering Diploma (SAE Institute International). I have travelled the world extensively researching world music genres, especially in Latin America. During a 2.5yr journey through Latin America, I attended the School of Mariachi in Guadalajara, Mexico and performed with Cuban street band, Los Jubilados del Caribe, in Santiago de Cuba.
