  • Description: Summer. Step into the fascinating world of Japan with our "Exploring Summer in Japan" topic. Over the 4 sessions, children will embark on a virtual journey to discover the vibrant traditions, natural wonders, festive celebrations and creative crafts associated with summer in Japan. In each session, Hannah will share her experience of living in Japan while the children delve into different aspects of Japanese culture as well as learn some basic Japanese language. They will learn about traditions such as Tanabata and Obon, where they'll have the opportunity to create their own Tanabata decorations and discover mouthwatering summer foods like kakigori (shaved ice)! Participants will have the chance to experience the sights and sounds of Japanese summer festivals (matsuri) as well as delve into the world of Japanese summer fashion and traditional garments like yukata. A chance for children to develop a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and foster their creativity and appreciation for the diverse traditions that make summer in Japan so special.
