Content

  • Picture Prompt Stories

    Spark your imagination and bring pictures to life through storytelling! In this 5-week creative writing adventure, students will use striking images as inspiration to build plot, setting, character and mood.

    Each lesson takes a different type of picture, from mysterious doorways to busy markets and transforms it into a short, powerful story.

    Learners will build on their descriptive writing skills from previous blocks, exploring how to “show not tell,” use sensory details and structure a story from beginning to end.

  • Course Objectives:

    Develop creative writing skills using image prompts.

    Practise “show, don’t tell” and sensory description techniques.

    Build confidence in story planning and paragraph structure.

    Learn how to create engaging openings, climaxes and endings.

    Write and share one complete short story inspired by a chosen image.

Hi everyone! I’m Amy and I’ve been a private tutor since 2020. I previously worked as a teacher where I taught in almost every year you can think of! I’ve worked in mainstream, independent and special schools. I’m passionate about every child being able to access an education that is right for them and I’m excited to be a part of that! During my time as a teacher, I worked with students with very high anxiety and as a result I’m an empathetic tutor and always aim for students to feel safe and secure in my lessons first and foremost. I also like to produce fun and engaging lessons that focus on topics that students are actually interested in! I love travelling, reading and spending time at home with my baby, husband and dog! I also run my own greeting card company and have sold over 50,000 designs! I am so excited to be joining the hub and to meet you all. I am a huge advocate for home education and I love what the £2 hub stands for! I hope to see in my lessons soon!

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.
