The do's and don'ts of making a safe habitat for birds Week 2: Owls. British Barn Owls close up! Let's investigate and dissect Barn Owl pellets. What did it eat? (Pellets are available on ebay - I am also looking to bulk buy so I can distribute them for a cheaper price) Week 3: Bees. Why do bees buzz? Why bees are under threat? How can we help? Build a 'Bee B & B' Introduction to beekeeping and look at lots of Bee species. Week 4: Bats. Let's discover bat behaviour, habitats and spotting tips. Can you build a bat box out of recycled materials? Week 5: Butterflies. Metamorphosis and plants. What happens inside a chrysalis? What is a chrysalis made from? What's the difference between a chrysalis, cocoon and pupa? You can buy a live butterfly garden kit to observe this fascinating transformation.
