About this course

  • £10.00
  • Tutor: Gemma, 5 Lessons
  • Age: 7-11
  • Description: Discover the Geological timescale, palaeontology and fossils, exciting evidence challenging well-known theories of extinction of dinosaurs and the age of the earth. Look deeper into the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous eras, dinosaurs of Britain and the age of mammals after the dinosaurs. The children will be encouraged to understand that there are many theories of extinction, all of which have exciting evidence, including the most recent theory (with supported evidence) in 2022 - to suggest it wasn't the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs after all. Come and scratch the surface of dinosaurs and learn how this topic goes beyond just learning about dinosaur names and eras. Can you dig deeper into palaeontology and discover our exciting earth! There is so much more to find out! Learning objectives covered: To understand how science can use evidence to support theories, but does not necessarily make it fact. The children will discover lots of answers and ideas and be encouraged to consider which theory they like the best and why. They will be encouraged to support their answers with evidence.
