  • Life at the Poles

    Join us in our brand new topic where we’ll be journeying to the very edges of our planet to discover what makes life at the poles so unique.

    We’ll uncover the big differences between north and south, explore how people live in the Arctic compared to Antarctica where no one lives permanently, and learn about famous explorers who braved the ice.

    Along the way, your child will meet extraordinary animals and plants adapted to extreme cold, investigate the secrets hidden beneath the ice, and be amazed by natural wonders like the Northern Lights.

    We’ll also look at the vital role of the polar regions in understanding our planet’s past, present, and future - including how scientists in research stations are working to unlock these frozen mysteries.

  • Course Objectives:

    Locate and describe the Arctic and Antarctic on a world map

    Understand how human activity has shaped and responded to life in polar regions

    Recognise how animals and plants are adapted to survive in extreme polar environments

    Explore scientific discoveries and natural phenomena unique to the poles

    Explain the importance of the polar regions

Hello 👋🏻 My name is Kerry and I am really happy to be joining the £2 tuition hub family as a tutor. Iwill be teaching the KS2 Topic and Geography classes and can’t wait to see some of you there. I’m an KS1 and KS2 specialist teacher, teaching in the classroom for 14 years before tutoring and my favourite subjects (to teach and to learn!) are history, geography, art and science. When I’m not teaching, I love to read, cook, go for walks and play games with my 3 year old, Alfie!

  • How do I access the live sessions?

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration.

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.
