Content

  • Algebra - Expressions, Formulae and Substitution

    Algebra is an important tool as it generalises numbers and is used more than we think.

    This block will contain the differences between terms, expressions, equations and formulae and when to use each. This will be followed by substitution of numbers into expressions, learning which order to do the operations in.

    This block will enhance not only the knowledge of algebraic techniques but also number work too.

  • Course Objectives:

    Substitute numerical values into formulae and expressions, including scientific formulae.

    Understand and use the concepts and vocabulary of expressions, equations, inequalities, terms and factors.

    Model situations or procedures by translating them into algebraic expressions or formulae.

KS3 Maths Tutor

Hello! I’m Deanne and I teach Secondary Maths here in the hub. I’ve been a fully qualified teacher of Maths for over 20 years, having taught in a variety of schools in the Midlands and North West for a number of years. I am a current examiner of GCSE and A level Maths and I run my own tuition business. I have written and proofread textbooks and revision guides for a well known publisher and reviewed content for various websites. I aim to make Maths as accessible as possible to all my students and build confidence whenever I can.

  • How do I access the Live sessions?

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration. You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class. The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient

  • How do I contact support?
