  • Description: Biology - Humans as organisms. This block we will be looking at the human body, and how it works, looking at some of the main systems in the human body. L/O: We will find out about what our bodies need to function well, and how nutrition is important for survival and why we need to have a balanced diet. Then we take a detailed look at the digestive system, learning how all the organs that make up the digestive system work together to help us get the nutrients we need from food. We will learn about the skeletal system, and what we use our bones for. We will see how our muscular system connects to our skeletal system to help us move around, as well as seeing how muscles work together in pairs. Lastly we will look at breathing and the gas exchange system, and how we get oxygen into our blood stream and carbon dioxide out again.
