Content

  • PLEASE NOTE: Change of day & time. Lego town. Join Hannah for an exciting block of Lego Club where your child will become an urban planner and architect in our Lego town building project! Over the five sessions, children will work on creating a vibrant and dynamic Lego town using the Lego they already have. We will construct buildings, roads, transportation systems, add green spaces and even parks. Through this project, children will develop their creativity, problem-solving and spatial awareness as they design and build their town - which can include anything they like!

  • Each week, Hannah models ideas and your child has the opportunity to proudly present their own projects, explaining their design choices live in the session or parents and carers are encouraged to sending photos or videos to Hannah for her to put in the session slideshow so they can be seen by all Lego Club participants. Get ready for an engaging and educational adventure in urban planning with Lego bricks!

Hello! I’m Hannah – the founder of Story STEAM – inspiring your children in all things STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) Coding and Lego! So, a little bit about me… Since completing my BEd Primary Studies (hons) with a specialism in Design Technology, I’ve been a teacher (Reception to Year 6) for over 20 years. In between those 20+ years, I moved to Nara, Japan to take part in the JET (Japanese Exchange and Teaching) programme where I taught English as an additional language to middle-schoolers and adults for 3 years. On returning to live in the UK, I was given responsibility for English and ICT/Computing in the school I worked in. Fast forward to 2020 and remote teaching planted a seed in my mind. During the lockdowns, I spent time reflecting and thinking about what children are not getting at school that I could bring to them online. Story STEAM was born! My son Tomi loves helping with my classes – testing out ideas – especially with coding and micro:bit! Children need time to invent and be creative; it’s good for their mental health. Through STEAM, Coding and Lego Club activities, I hope to give children the opportunity to create while using maths, learning about science, technology, engineering and most importantly – HAVE FUN!
