    Making Fabric Christmas Decorations 🎄

Get ready for a little festive stitching fun! In this cosy, hands-on block, young makers will learn how to create their very own fabric Christmas decorations and bunting from start to finish.

They'll explore simple sewing skills, colourful decorative stitching and applique techniques as they bring their decorations to life, before adding those all-important finishing touches. Along the way, they'll build confidence with fabric and thread while working towards the AQA Unit Award 71265 - Making a Fabric Christmas Tree Decoration.

A lovely family project to make, learn and be proud of - something that can become part of your Christmas for years to come! ✨

  • Course Objectives

    Demonstrated the ability to

    1. select shapes required for the decoration from a given choice of pre-cut shapes

    4. push the wadding into the inside of the shape

    5. finish sewing around the seams

    6. sew decoration onto the shape using applique techniques or decorative stitching

Lydia .

Fashion and Art Tutor

Hi! I’m Lydia and I teach Art, Fashion, Crochet, Knit and Embroidery in the hub and love every second of it.
You’ll also find me in the Social Pods running activities, which I’m super excited about. It’s so lovely to talk to the wonderful members in the hub about their hobbies and interests and see their confidence grow as they form friendships.
I’ve been a Secondary School teacher for 14 years but made the decision to leave the classroom this year and focus on teaching sessions that encourage fun, creativity and learning without limit.
