  • Revision and Exam Techniques

    Block 11

    This block is part of the CIE IGCSE Marine Science course and is designed to consolidate and review content from all previous units (M1-M6).

    It focuses on revision, command word decoding, exam technique, and confidence building.

    It is strongly recommended that learners have completed the full course before starting this block, as it is intended to prepare them for final assessment.

    Get exam-ready with confidence! In this supportive and empowering final block, learners will revisit key content from the course while developing the skills they need to succeed in their final assessment.

    From breaking down command words to marking real past paper questions, this block offers practical strategies for revision, time management, and exam technique.

    We’ll use quizzes, practice papers, peer feedback, and personalised reflection to help learners finish their Marine Science journey feeling calm, clear, and confident.

    Understand and accurately use CIE exam command words

    Practise answering structured and data-based questions

    Use mark schemes to self-assess and improve answers

Science Tutor

My name is Carrie Ann Booth 👩🏼‍🔬🧪💥 and I teach Primary Science, KS3 Science, IGCSE Biology, IGCSE Chemistry and IGCSE Marine Science.

I have a degree in Biochemistry with Science Communication and over 20 years of experience teaching science in schools, online, and through hands-on workshops and shows. Alongside teaching in the hub, I am also the founder of The Science Booth, where I bring science to life for thousands of children each year through explosive demos, practical investigations, and unforgettable learning experiences.

My teaching style is all about “serious science learning… but not too serious!” I believe children learn best when they are encouraged to ask questions, get messy, explore ideas, and see the real-world magic of science for themselves. My lessons are energetic, engaging, and full of curiosity, creativity, and wow moments.

Science matters because it shapes the future. Today’s curious children could become tomorrow’s:
