  • Learning Show Description

    Step into the exciting world of real-life maths with 'Planning the Perfect Holiday'. In this interactive entry-level unit, learners will become travel planners as they choose a destination, explore brochures and websites, and design their own dream trip. From calculating travel and accommodation costs to budgeting for meals, activities and spending money, this course brings maths to life in a practical and engaging way. Learners will also create a journey timetable using the 24-hour clock and investigate the average monthly temperatures of their chosen destination, presenting their findings clearly on a graph or chart.

  • Course Objectives:

    By the end of this unit, learners will be able to: • Research and select a suitable holiday destination using real travel information. • Calculate and justify the total cost of travel and accommodation. • Plan and manage a realistic holiday budget within given constraints. • Organise a journey schedule accurately using the 24-hour clock. • Analyse climate data for a chosen destination and present it clearly in graphical form.

Hi everyone, I’m Amy. I’ve always loved teaching and stepped away from the classroom to home educate my daughter Evie. Watching children have those lightbulb moments and grow in confidence is honestly my favourite part of what I do. I’m also mum to Poppy, so life is always busy and full! Outside of teaching, I love travelling, getting lost in a good book and eating far too many crisps!

  • How do I access the live sessions?

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration.

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.
