  • Description: Digital and Print Media. Block 2 of Media Studies continues to focus on a range of media texts, both print and digital. We will look at their history and development including advances in technology and changes in the social roles of individuals and groups in society reflecting on the influences that have shaped media as it is today. This will include newspapers and magazines, television programmes, radio programmes and films. How do they convey meaning? How are they made and by whom? In our second block we will continue to learn about the differences between print and digital media practising the language used to describe these texts. We will complete our work on newspapers and magazines and their codes and conventions, considering the impact of the move online to these texts. NOTE: This is a continuing course and Block 1 should be completed (available as a recording) before moving on to Block 2 activities. L/O: To learn about the differences between print and digital media, to understand the language, codes and conventions and practise using skills learned.
