  • Description: Newspapers & Magazines. *BRAND NEW FOR SEPTEMBER 2023* Media Studies focuses on a range of media texts, both print and digital. We will look at their history and development including advances in technology and changes in the social roles of individuals and groups in society reflecting on the influences that have shaped media as it is today. This will include newspapers and magazines, television programmes, radio programmes and films. How do they convey meaning? How are they made and by whom? In our first block we will learn about the differences between print and digital media and some of the language used to describe these texts. We will look at newspapers and magazines and their codes and conventions, considering the impact of the move online to these texts.
