  • Tutor: Hannah, 5 sessions
  • Age: 8+
  • Description: Innovations - Coding for Real-Life Projects. Join Hannah for another exciting course designed for children aged 8 and above to embark on a coding journey with the micro:bit! In these beginner friendly sessions children will develop their coding skills, enhance logical thinking and engage in hands-on projects that bridge the gap between technology and real-world applications. We'll learn how to code a digital thermometer, weather station, alarm clock and even a working set of traffic lights! These interactive tutorials are perfect for aspiring young engineers and programmers just beginning with the micro:bit as well as more experienced coders who are keen to innovate and develop their ideas further. A micro:bit starter kit will be required to participate fully as well as a few extra low priced components such as LEDs and some craft materials. (List and links will be available soon). If you haven't already got one, a micro:bit starter kit can be purchased here: https://www.okdo.com/p/okdo-microbit-getting-started-kit-en?utm_source=edu-109&utm_medium=referral This is an affiliate link and Hannah will receive a small amount if you use this link to purchase a kit. I recommend getting set up and familiarising yourself with the micro:bit head of the first session. You may even like to try some of the recordings before starting this one. L/O: In our micro:bit sessions, participants have the chance to learn all about physical computing; projects that interact with the real world using sensors, light, sound & movement. These fun, practical projects help participants understand how coding works in every day products. Who knows, they might even be inspired to invent their own device to solve a real life problem! Suitable for beginners & those who have previously completed micro:bit coding projects with Hannah.
