• Description: Blood Brothers by Willy Russell (Block 2). NOTE: BLOCK 2 OF 2 “So did y’hear the story of the Johnstone twins? As like each other as two new pins Of one womb born, on the self same day How one was kept and one given away?” In this block, we return to Liverpool to continue with Willy Russell’s story of Eddie Lyons and Mickey Johnstone and their two mothers, twins who become “blood brothers”. We will find out how they met their fate. This is a musical and some of the script is song lyrics – we will be listening to the songs and even singing them, if you’d like to! We will find out about the background against which the play was set, the characters and the language and structure of the script. This is a GCSE text for AQA and this will be referenced during our studies. All resources will be provided. NOTE: This is Block 2 of 2. It is essential that Block 1, available on recordings, is completed prior to commencing this block.
