  • Beat it! (Rhythm 1)

    If you are unsure whether or not you are ready for Grade 3, you can complete this online Grade 2 test: https://www.abrsm.org/en-gb/music-theory/practice-resources which will enable you to assess your knowledge and help you to decide.

    If you feel that you are not yet ready for Grade 3, you will find the links to my previous Grade 2 (and Grade 1) blocks here: https://courses.the2poundtuitionhub.com/collections?q=music+theory which you can complete in your own time. If you would like to join my Grade 3 live classes but feel that you cannot complete all of the Grade 2 blocks before September, alternatively you can complete each Grade 2 block as and when it is needed e.g. for the September Rhythm 1 Grade 3 block, you would need to make sure that you have completed the corresponding Grade 2 rhythm blocks: Nov 2024 Rhythm 1 and Jan 2025 Rhythm 2.

    Resources Needed:

    To aid us with our learning, we will be using ‘Discovering Music Theory The ABRSM Grade 3 Workbook’ which will need to be purchased. This book can retail from £8.50 to £10.50 (please shop around) and will also be used within all of the following blocks. The ABRSM workbook will be accompanied by activities and quizzes to ensure that our lessons are engaging and fun!

    Course Objectives:

    To be able to recognise the demisemiquaver and know its time value.

    To be able to recognise when a melody starts on an upbeat.

    To be able to recognise and understand duple, triple and quadruple time.

    To be able to group notes and rests.

Piano Tutor

Hi, I’m Natalie and I am the piano/keyboard teacher for the hub. I am a mum of two and a qualified primary school teacher. I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old and have been teaching piano for around 24 years- both online and in person. I am also a classically trained singer and was a member of the Cantamus Girls’ Choir for ten years. Pre-Covid, I enjoyed singing to residents in care homes and running my own dementia choir. Music is such a huge part of my life and I am thoroughly enjoying teaching in the hub, where I can share my love of music and enjoy watching children flourish.

  • How do I access the live sessions?

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration.

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.
