  • Description: Scales, Keys and Key Signatures. Our third block will focus on scales, keys and key signatures. We will be learning about the scales and keys of C, G, D and F major. This will include which accidentals are needed in each scale/key; the degrees of the scale; how to add key signatures to music plus more. This block follows the ABRSM syllabus and covers everything that you need to know about scales, keys and key signatures in Grade 1. To aid us with our learning, we will continue to use ‘Discovering Music Theory -The ABRSM Grade 1 Workbook’. This book will need to be purchased if this is the first time that you are joining us. These books usually retail around £8.50. It has been used in our previous blocks and will also be used within all of the following blocks. (You may also want to buy the two blocks that we have completed about pitch and rhythm if you didn't manage to sign up in time.) The book will be accompanied by games and music to ensure that our lessons are engaging and fun!
