    Welcome to Nature Quest – where curious young minds explore the wonders of the natural world. Designed for children aged 6 to 12, this engaging series of lessons blends nature education with hands-on science.     Collecting natural materials from outdoors such as fallen leaves, petals, twigs and seeds

    Recycling and household objects

    Course Objectives:

    Foster curiosity and creativity through hands-on interaction with nature.

    Develop scientific skills: observation, questioning, recording, and communication.

    Build awareness of seasonal change and sustainability in natural environments.

    Understand the basic needs of plants for growth.

    Identify garden indicators such as leaf colour change.

    Use cross curricular skills and creativity.

Nature Quest & STEAM Explorers Tutor

Hi, I’m Dr Jo – scientist and educator. I teach Nature Quest and STEAM Explorers in the Hub, where we dive into the wonders of science, nature, and creative problem-solving — all through hands-on, creative, curious learning. With a background in science and years of experience in education, I’m passionate about sparking that “wow!” moment in children — whether we’re mixing potions from plants, exploring the changing Earth, or inventing with STEAM. I love helping young learners connect ideas, ask big questions, and explore the world through fun, engaging, and meaningful experiences. When I’m not teaching in the Hub, you might find me delivering workshops, running STEM clubs, developing learning resources, supporting teachers, and training scientists! I can’t wait to welcome you to the adventure — let’s explore, experiment and get inspired by the amazing world around us!

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration.

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.
