  • Description: Introduction to Origami. In this first block, participants will explore the art of origami, unlocking their creativity and developing their fine motor skills. In the introductory sessions, children will discover the magic of origami as they learn the fundamental techniques and principles of this ancient Japanese art form. Guided by Hannah who spent 3 years living in Japan, they will have the opportunity to learn about the history and cultural significance of origami in Japanese tradition, fostering an appreciation for its beauty and craftsmanship while creating a variety of beginner-friendly origami models. Each session will introduce new folds and concepts, gradually building their skills and confidence. Through interactive demonstrations, children will develop a solid foundation in origami. Live sessions will facilitate real-time interaction, allowing participants to seek guidance, share their creations, and engage in a supportive community of young origami enthusiasts. Those catching up in the recordings have the opportunity to pause and rewind to repeat instructions and make their models in their own time. All participants will have the chance to showcase their finished models and celebrate their accomplishments via the 'Gallery'. Participants will need a pack of good quality origami paper.
