Content

  • In Block 5, we will be learning how to play chords and how to use these chords to be able to play songs such as: Merrily We Roll Along, Happy Birthday, If You’re Happy and You Know It, London Bridge and You Are My Sunshine. We will also recap C Major and G Major scales and learn the difference between a major and minor chord. As always, each lesson will begin with a fun warm up and then finish with some time at the end for students to play for everyone if they wish.

  • • To be able to work out and play a major chord • To be able to work out and play a minor chord • To be able to play a chord progression whilst singing the melody • To be able to play a chord progression with my left hand whilst playing a melody with my right hand. If you are joining us for the first time via recordings and have no experience at all, you will need to start from Block 1. However, if you are able to play a simple melody in the right hand then it will be fine to start with this block. If you would like to join us live for the first time, you will need to be able to play a simple melody with your right hand in order to do so.

Piano Tutor

Hi, I’m Natalie and I am the piano/keyboard teacher for the hub. I am a mum of two and a qualified primary school teacher. I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old and have been teaching piano for around 24 years- both online and in person. I am also a classically trained singer and was a member of the Cantamus Girls’ Choir for ten years. Pre-Covid, I enjoyed singing to residents in care homes and running my own dementia choir. Music is such a huge part of my life and I am thoroughly enjoying teaching in the hub, where I can share my love of music and enjoy watching children flourish.

    All recordings are uploaded within 24hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient
