    Dragon Challenge 🐉✨

In Block 4, we’ll be stepping into a world of dragons - exploring legendary creatures from myths and folklore across the world, with a special link to Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.

Dragons come in all shapes, sizes and colours, and have appeared in stories for centuries. Together, we’ll discover their majesty through creative crafts, food, games and storytelling inspired activities.

Each week brings a brand new dragon adventure, designed to spark curiosity, imagination and lots of fun along the way.

Pawprint badges are a brilliant, creative way for children to work towards an end goal.

Your child will complete the activities and earn their badge virtually. If they’d like to collect them, badges can be purchased from the Pawprint website but this is completely optional.

Here’s what we’ll be getting up to each week:

✨ Week 1 - Dragons, Myths & Legends We’ll kick off with an exciting introduction to dragons. Are dragons real? Where do the stories come from? We’ll explore famous dragons from myths and legends, with a special link to Wales. Children will finish the session by creating their own flying dragon.

🥚 Week 2 - Craft: Create your own DIY Dragon Eggs

🍰 Week 3 - Food: We’ll be making delicious Welsh cakes, linking our dragon theme to Welsh culture and traditions.

🎲 Week 4 - Games: Get ready for dragon themed games including a famous dragons quiz, a dragon name generator and a virtual dragon egg hunt.

🐲 Week 5 - Other: We’ll learn about the history of the Welsh flag and the iconic red dragon, exploring what it represents and why it’s so important. Children will also create an origami dragon bookmark at the end of the session.

I can’t wait to get started and see all the amazing dragons you bring to life. See you soon for some dragon magic! ✨🐉

Early Years, KS1, Pawprint & Social Pods

Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m a primary school teacher, specialising in the early years (ages 3-7). I qualified in 2013 from Bath Spa University and have taught throughout the EYFS, KS1 and KS2 ever since, coordinating many subjects including maths, science and PE. In 2018, I completed my NASENCO award and worked as a SENCO, supporting many wonderful families, alongside teaching. I live by the sea in Weston super Mare with my husband, toddler daughter and two cheeky pugs. Since becoming a Mummy, I have realised how quickly our children grow up so have recently started teaching part time to enjoy this precious time with my daughter. I love sharing my passion for teaching with those of you in the Hub – it really is the highlight of my working week!
