• Description: School of Rock (Part 2). Are you ready to 'stick it to the man?'. Join us for part 2 of 'school of rock' (please note if you didn't join us for block 1, you will find it beneficial to purchase block 1 before joining us for block 2, as this is a continuation). In drama we'll be playing games, exploring feelings, emotions and characters using the story to help us and reading a basic script (with support from Rosie or parents if needed). In dance we will warm up our bodies and stretch, learn new or build on dance technique we've learnt in previous blocks and learn a dance routine to a song from the musical. In singing, we will warm up our voices, practice good singing technique and learn to sing one of the songs from the musical. L/O: Character Development: Help students develop their acting skills by studying and embodying the diverse characters from "School of Rock," including Dewey Finn, the students, and other key roles. Encourage students to understand their characters' motivations, emotions, and arcs. Vocal Training: vocal coaching and training to help students improve their singing skills. Focus on proper breathing, pitch, tone, and projection, using songs from the musical. Musicality: Teach students the music from "School of Rock" and help them understand the musical structure, timing, and dynamics of the songs. Explore how the music enhances storytelling. Script Work: Use an adaptation of the script to understand how actors read, perform and intepret scripts in the theatre. Dance and Movement: Incorporate choreography and movement into the class to help students develop their dance skills, as "School of Rock" features energetic and memorable dance sequences. Stagecraft: Teach students about basic stage design, set construction, lighting, and sound, giving them a well-rounded understanding of the technical aspects of theater production.
