  • Description: Phase 2 individual letter sounds and common exception words. In Phase 2 we will introduce the individual letter sounds s, a, t, p, i, n, m and the common exception (tricky) words I and to. We will use our knowledge of the sounds learnt to blend to read VC and CVC words, and segment to spell VC and CVC words. We will begin to read short captions using sounds we have learnt so far. L/O: To learn and recognise individual letter sounds for reading and recall for spelling. To learn to blend sounds in order to read VC and CVC words and short captions. To learn to segment words into sounds in order to spell VC, CVC words and write short captions. To learn to read and spell common exception words.
