Content

  • Learning alternative pronunciations to known graphemes and spelling choices for known phonemes

Join us on our exciting Phase 5+ Phonics quest as we take our reading and spelling skills to the next level through engaging adventure stories, interactive activities, and fun phonics challenges!

To help children become even more confident readers and writers, we explore the world of alternative pronunciations of graphemes and different spellings of phonemes.

Children will discover that letters and sounds can work in different ways, helping them tackle trickier words with confidence and independence.

Through exciting reading activities, word investigations, spelling challenges, and games, we will practise applying our phonics knowledge to read unfamiliar words, improve fluency, and develop spelling strategies. Children will be encouraged to ‘have a go’ with their writing while building confidence in making choices about sounds and spellings.

With plenty of opportunities for problem-solving, discussion, and interactive learning, these sessions will help children become phonics detectives - spotting patterns and exploring words!

Perfect for young learners who are ready to extend their phonics knowledge, deepen their understanding of spelling patterns, and become even more confident, independent readers and writers.

Phonics Tutor

Hi Everyone! I’m Lisa. I am a qualified primary teacher and have been teaching since 2009, predominately in EYFS, and some in Year 1, 2, 3 and 4.
I have two children of my own who are 6 and 3, and I’m based in Gloucestershire. I love teaching phonics and even more so, love to see the sense of achievement from children who are learning to read! It is a pleasure to run the phonics sessions in the hub, and aim to make the sessions interactive, fun and enjoyable!

Parent Comments

“I would like to say thank you for the service you provided, you have always been very helpful whenever I had any questions. Primarily you offer a great service, doing lessons online and watching the videos was a game changer for my daughter as she could watch them at home on her own schedule. Subsequently this has allowed her to take 2 additional GCSEs that she would not have done other wise. Thank you very much”

David, parent

“Thank you so much for everything!! You have been an absolute life saver. There was a time when I couldn't possibly imagine my son taking any GCSEs at all, and here we are ploughing through the past papers and sending him off to exams with a calm and confident son. Extraordinary! Thank goodness for you and your efforts to help kids like him - we will be eternally grateful.”

Ruth, parent

“I would like to say a huge Thank you for your incredible service. Such a brilliant concept and as an ex-teacher I'm very impressed with the quality of teaching, resources, well everything really! My 14year old is like a different child nowadays, wish I had deregistered him years ago in hindsight. Thank you!”

Claire, parent

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for all you do at the Hub. It is such a Godsend for us. Our kids are enjoying their lessons, the live interaction with other kids and the lovely, lovely teachers. Where did you find such wonderful, knowledgeable but incredibly patient people?! It’s such a relief our kids can get a tailor made, good quality, British style education even as we live out this slightly crazy life here in the Mexican jungle! Thank you very much to all involved.”

Carolyn, parent
