  • Description: Phase 2 individual letters sounds and common exception words. In Phase 2, we will continue to revise individual letter sounds and common exception (tricky) words learnt so far, and will introduce the sounds d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, r, u and the common exception words 'the' and 'no'. We will use our knowledge of these sounds learnt to blend to read CVC words and segment to spell CVC words. We will continue to read short captions using the sounds and words we have learnt so far, and will begin to write some short captions and sentences. L/O: To learn and recognise individual letter sounds learnt so far for reading and recall for spelling. To learn to blend sounds in order to read CVC words and short sentences. To learn to segment the sounds said in words in order to spell CVC words and short captions. To learn to read and spell common exception words.
