Content

  • Phase 4 consonant blends, polysyllabic words and common exception words. In Phase 4, we will be revisiting individual letter sounds, digraphs and trigraphs previously learnt, along with common exception (tricky) words learnt so far.

  • We will focus on learning to blend to read and segment to spell CVCC and CCVC words containing phase 3 digraphs and trigraphs and the consonant blends nd, nk, nt, ld, lf, lk, lp, lt, ft, mp, ct, pt, xt, alongside introducing the common exception words said, so, have, like. We will also be learning to read and spell polysyllabic words. We will use our knowledge of these blends and words to practise reading and writing sentences.

Hi Everyone! I’m Lisa. I am a qualified primary teacher and have been teaching since 2009, predominately in EYFS, and some in Year 1, 2, 3 and 4. I have two children of my own who are 6 and 3, and I’m based in Gloucestershire. I love teaching phonics and even more so, love to see the sense of achievement from children who are learning to read! It is a pleasure to run the phonics sessions in the hub, and aim to make the sessions interactive, fun and enjoyable!
