    Merry Christmas 2024

For our Christmas block, we are going to be learning the pieces ‘Carol of the Bells’ by Mykola Leontovych and ‘Merry Christmas’ by Ed Sheeran and Elton John. The main piece for the beginners in the group during each session will be ‘Carol of the Bells’; the main piece for students with previous experience during each session will be ‘Merry Christmas’. So if you’re a beginner, please note the majority of your learning time will be on ‘Carol of the Bells’ and if you have previous experience, the majority of your learning time will be on ‘Merry Christmas’. If you would like to learn both pieces, I will be showing students how they can modify a piece of music to simplify it and to also challenge themselves in order to match their own ability. The sheet music for ‘Carol of the Bells’ is free and on the dashboard ready for you to print. If you wish to learn ‘Merry Christmas’, you will need to purchase this for £3.23 (with a 10% discount code) from https://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/se/ID_No/1228483/Product.aspx

  • Course Objectives:

To be able to play 'Carol of the Bells'

To be able to play 'Merry Christmas'

To be able to read and play a melody in the treble clef

To be able to read and play notes in the bass clef

To be able to play chords in the left hand to accompany the melody in my right hand

To be able to modify a piece of music to match my own ability

If you are a newcomer and have never played the piano/keyboard before, I would highly recommend either purchasing my ‘Condensed Catch Up Block’ https://courses.the2poundtuitionhub.com/courses/piano-Beginners-10-condensed-catch-up-block to learn the basics of reading music and how to play chords before joining, or purchase our September 2024 block https://courses.the2poundtuitionhub.com/courses/piano-10-sept-2024-chords-inversions-8561 which teaches basic chords.

Tutor

Natalie .

Piano Tutor

Hi, I’m Natalie and I am the piano/keyboard teacher for the hub. I am a mum of two and a qualified primary school teacher. I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old and have been teaching piano for around 24 years- both online and in person. I am also a classically trained singer and was a member of the Cantamus Girls’ Choir for ten years. Pre-Covid, I enjoyed singing to residents in care homes and running my own dementia choir. Music is such a huge part of my life and I am thoroughly enjoying teaching in the hub, where I can share my love of music and enjoy watching children flourish.

“The group is wonderful, the classes are great, the teachers are awesome and my kids feel they belong to a community. They've made real friends with whom they spend hours chatting and playing. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't find this group.…. you have made a gigantic difference in many people's lives and have contributed greatly to ensuring many kids enjoy studying and grow up happy and mentally healthy and that is pretty amazing.”

“You're pure genius. It’s given us a lifeline! There are no words I can say to describe just how incredible it is to have amazing teachers at our fingertips to teach my daughter (and all the other kids here). Because of YOU and all the TEACHERS here, I am able to take my daughter out of an environment that wasn’t suitable for her and still give her a good education, that's so affordable, at home where she feels safe and comfortable. ”

“The way you’ve structured The £2 Tuition Hub clearly comes from a deep and personal understanding of what anxious/ND children and young people need in order to be able to engage with and enjoy their learning. I’d honestly be lost without your work, so big thanks to you and the rest of your team. ”

“....The Enterprising minds course has helped her to be able to do a business plan and her accounts. I/ we just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all in the hub. When we started HE 2 years ago we were thrown in it and wasn't sure that we would manage it. But the help all the Teachers have provided via the hub has really made this unfamiliar journey not only bearable, but enjoyable. ”
