  • Tutor: Natalie, 5 sessions
  • Age: 5+
  • Description: PLEASE NOTE there will be 4 live sessions and 1 pre-recorded session due to the extra bank holiday. Live sessions will start early on 17th April. Block 8 is a continuation of the previous blocks. For this block, we will be continuing to learn how to play the piano using the Get Set Piano Tutor book 1. If you are a newcomer who would like to join us, you will need to purchase this book plus the Condensed Catch-Up Block and Blocks 6 and 7. (You can use a keyboard to learn on if you don’t have a piano). We will be: - Continuing to learn how to read music (where the notes are on the stave and how to read rhythm) - Practising our sight reading - Recapping chords and linking them to the beats on a keyboard. Our challenge piece for this block will be In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg. During the last 5-10 minutes of each lesson, we will be looking at how to play a keyboard (using the beats to play different chords etc). Even if you don’t own a keyboard, this will be useful to watch for if you ever get the opportunity to play one. L/O: To learn how to read music, To learn how to play chords, To play scales, To play chords using the rhythm section on the keyboard.
