It is not recommended to mix and match the blocks. In Block 1, we will be focussing on the basics such as correct posture, finger positions and which notes are which etc. Each lesson will begin with a fun game/warm up and throughout the block we will be learning songs such as ‘Rain, Rain, Go Away’, ‘Chopsticks’ and Merrily We Roll Along’. We will also look at how to read music to encourage some independence.

  • Music is available on the dashboard for you to download so there is no need to buy any music. However if you wish to purchase stickers for your piano/keyboard, there is a link on the dashboard for you. Adult supervision is highly recommended during each lesson. • To sit with good posture at the piano/keyboard • To position my fingers on the keys correctly • To begin to identify notes on the stave • To begin to identify note values • To be able to play simple pieces on the piano/keyboard

Tutor

Natalie .

Piano Tutor

Hi, I’m Natalie and I am the piano/keyboard teacher for the hub. I am a mum of two and a qualified primary school teacher. I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old and have been teaching piano for around 24 years- both online and in person. I am also a classically trained singer and was a member of the Cantamus Girls’ Choir for ten years. Pre-Covid, I enjoyed singing to residents in care homes and running my own dementia choir. Music is such a huge part of my life and I am thoroughly enjoying teaching in the hub, where I can share my love of music and enjoy watching children flourish.

Claire, Parent

“We have been taking part in the BSL lessons and the other day had great fun finger spelling while shopping. Two of my children have dyslexia with T being more severe, he hates and refuses spellings. Along comes BSL and he’s loving spellings!” ”

Holly, Parent

“Our family are full time travellers and the hub is a life line for us. The children get to see and speak to adults who show a real interest in their learning and their lives. They get to pick lessons that they are interested in and have fun learning something new. The social hub was a real life line for us too. My 3 have made friends and love getting to chat to children and adults daily too. ”

Donna, Parent

“I can’t thank you enough for starting this group Amy. You gave me back my happy (not so little anymore) boy. Thanks to this group he’s realised he’s not the stupid, naughty kid that school made him believe he was. His sister is on school holidays and he’s doing recorded lessons by choice. Xxxx ”
